Henschel a commenc\u00e9 comme aci\u00e9rie en 1810, produisant une grande vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de produits, des canons aux ponts en acier. Avec l'invention de la locomotive \u00e0 vapeur et son entr\u00e9e en Allemagne, l'entreprise a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 construire les premi\u00e8res locomotives \u00e0 vapeur Henschel en 1844. L'entreprise a connu un grand succ\u00e8s et de nombreuses locomotives ont \u00e9t\u00e9 vendues \u00e0 l'\u00e9tranger. Mais elle a \u00e9galement construit de nombreuses locomotives pour les chemins de fer allemands, la Deutsche Reichsbahn. Au fil des ans, des voitures, des camions, des chars et des avions de chasse sont venus s'ajouter \u00e0 leur catalogue. Henschel a alors rachet\u00e9 un grand nombre d'entre eux. Au fur et \u00e0 mesure que la guerre progressait, la production de Henschel s'est concentr\u00e9e de plus en plus sur les v\u00e9hicules de guerre. Les usines ont \u00e9galement accueilli 6 000 travailleurs forc\u00e9s. En 1943, l'usine a \u00e9t\u00e9 gravement touch\u00e9e, ainsi que le reste de Kassel, lors d'un bombardement alli\u00e9. 7 000 \u00e0 10 000 personnes ont \u00e9t\u00e9 tu\u00e9es \u00e0 Kassel. En mai 1945, l'arm\u00e9e am\u00e9ricaine s'empare du site. Elle \u00e9tait de conception Henschel D600 avec 4 essieux coupl\u00e9s (disposition des essieux D) et d\u00e9veloppait une puissance de 600 ch, d'o\u00f9 son nom. La conception \u00e9tait enti\u00e8rement nouvelle depuis l'apr\u00e8s-guerre. Malgr\u00e9 les temps difficiles dans lesquels elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9e, la locomotive \u00e9tait toujours tr\u00e8s bien \u00e9quip\u00e9e avec les derni\u00e8res caract\u00e9ristiques. Elle disposait d'une pompe \u00e0 vapeur pour freiner avec de l'air comprim\u00e9, d'un g\u00e9n\u00e9rateur d'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 pour l'\u00e9clairage \u00e0 l'int\u00e9rieur et \u00e0 l'ext\u00e9rieur de la locomotive et d'une cabine moderne. Le design a \u00e9t\u00e9 adopt\u00e9, mais le march\u00e9 pour ce type de locomotive n'\u00e9tait plus tr\u00e8s important. Finalement, seules 53 locomotives de ce type ont \u00e9t\u00e9 fabriqu\u00e9es. Elle a rejoint l'Eschweiler Bergwerksverein (EBV), o\u00f9 elle est rest\u00e9e 19 ans, et o\u00f9 elle a \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9e Anna 2. En 1989, elle a \u00e9galement quitt\u00e9 cette association. En 1990, l'association BVS (Belgian Friends of the Steam Locomotive, ancien nom de Stoomtrein Dendermonde Puurs) a r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 l'acqu\u00e9rir et a entam\u00e9 une restauration qui lui a permis de rouler en 1993. Les fonds n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 cet achat et \u00e0 cette restauration proviennent d'une subvention, de la vente de la locomotive Tubize 2069 \u00e0 l'ASBL Tubize 2069 et d'un parrainage de la brasserie Duvel Moortgat, situ\u00e9e dans la commune de Puurs-Sint-Amands. Au cours de ces quatre ann\u00e9es, elle a accompli le travail r\u00e9alis\u00e9 auparavant par Cockerill 2643. Duvel offrait plus de puissance l\u00e0 o\u00f9 l'association pouvait l'utiliser. De plus, \u00e0 cette \u00e9poque, la BVS \u00e9tait encore autoris\u00e9e \u00e0 rouler jusqu'\u00e0 la gare de Termonde, ce qui permettait \u00e0 Duvel de se pr\u00e9senter au public avec beaucoup de spectacle dans l'une des plus grandes gares belges. Au bout de quatre ans, cependant, il \u00e9tait vraiment fini. La chaudi\u00e8re \u00e9tait endommag\u00e9e, des dommages qui \u00e9taient connus lors de l'achat de la locomotive et, surtout, des dommages dont la r\u00e9paration co\u00fbterait plus cher que la valeur de la locomotive. Duvel a \u00e9t\u00e9 mise de c\u00f4t\u00e9 et il a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de faire rouler \u00e0 nouveau Cockerill 2643. Jusqu'\u00e0 aujourd'hui, Duvel est rest\u00e9e sur la touche sans intention de la restaurer, ce n'est pas notre meilleure pi\u00e8ce dans la flotte parce qu'elle n'est pas vieille, pas unique et pas belge.
