Ride days & tickets
Where can I buy tickets for the steam train?
Can I reserve seats?
On regular ride days and Scheldeland in Steam, you can buy a ticket online, which will guarantee you a seat. If you come with a group of more than 10 people, please let us know in advance.
On free ride days (Heritage Day etc.) it is not possible to book places in advance.
At events such as Degustation rides, Sinterklaas-Express etc, it is compulsory to purchase a ticket in advance through our website.
How can I pay?
If you wish to buy a ticket on the spot, you can pay with cash, Payconiq or Bancontact at the train guard.
Can a dog come with you on the train?
On regular ride days (every Sunday from July to September), you can take your dog on the train for free. We ask that you do not take your dog in the first-class carriage. We also ask you not to let your dog sit on the seats.
Can bikes come on the train?
Yes, you can bring your bike for free on our regular ride days (not on events). If you are coming with a larger group of cyclists, we ask you to let us know in advance.
Tickets: I have not received my tickets ordered online?
Be sure to take a look in the spam folder of your mailbox. Sometimes it happens that an order falters, our volunteers will follow this up as soon as possible.
Don't worry, as soon as the payment is successful, your order is properly registered with us.
Tickets: Can I rebook my tickets?
Ordinary ride days (all Sundays from July to August):
Yes, it is possible to rebook your tickets. Please send your request to info@stoomtrein.be at least 1 day in advance the date booked. It is not possible to refund or rebook tickets on the day.
Events (Scheldeland in Steam, Degustation rides, Sinterklaas...)
Yes, it is possible to rebook your tickets. Please send your request to info@stoomtrein.be at least 7 days in advance the date booked. Within the 7-day period, it is no longer possible to refund or rebook tickets.

Do I get a discount with a teacher's card?
You can indeed get a discount with an official teacher's card. This discount is only available if you online tickets ordered. The discount is also valid only on our 'regular ride days' on the Adult Day Pass.

Photo shoots
Can I do photo shoots on or around the old trains in Baasrode?
Yes, you can. To maintain the heritage for this, we charge a fee.
It is not allowed to enter the grounds without permission to take photos.
Communion/spring party photos: At fixed times of the year, you can book a time slot for this via our website. More info in here. If you wish to book outside these time slots, you will fall under the rate of wedding or professional photo shoots (see below).
Wedding photos/professional photo shoots/amateur groups: for photo shoots, please contact us to set this up at info@stoomtrein.be.
