Experience a unique day with and discover the rich industrial railway and shipping history in Baasrode (Dendermonde) via a new combi ticket!
Make a combined visit to VZW Steam Train Dendermonde-Puurs and Shipyards Baasrode!
The combination arrangement continues on subsequent dates in 2025: July 26, August 16, August 30 and September 27.
Day programme
You have the option of starting and ending the package in Baasrode-North or in Puurs.
Departure from Baasrode
26 July, 16 August, 30 August & 27 September 2026
The day will start with a journey by steam train at 11h45 from the old Baasrode-North station towards Puurs. In Puurs it will be possible to stretch your legs and have something to eat and drink.
We then take the steam train back towards Baasrode-North, where on arrival a tour of the work shed, where the historic trains are restored, is provided.
Afterwards, everyone should make their way to the Baasrode Shipyards where a unique guided tour will be organised. Learn more about shipbuilding and inland navigation and discover the unique shipyards on the Scheldt!

The day starts with a trip by steam train at 13h15 at the Signal House in Puurs towards Baasrode-North.
In Baasrode-North, on arrival a tour of the work shed, where the historic trains are restored, is planned.
Afterwards, everyone should make their way to the Baasrode Shipyards where a unique guided tour will be organised. Learn more about shipbuilding and inland navigation and discover the unique shipyards on the Scheldt!
At the end of the tour of the Shipyards, please make your way back to Baasrode-North station where the train back towards Puurs will be ready.

Puurs Seinhuiskaai station: accessible from SNCB station Puurs.
Travel between Baasrode-North station and the Maritime Museum is by private transport. The museum is a 15-minute walk away.
